Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Claims Back-to-Back WTA Player of the Year Accolades.

The tennis star in action
Aryna Sabalenka ended the season with an outstanding 23-3 Grand Slam win-loss record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight season.

The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Year of Dominance

Across the season, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the whole season as the top-ranked player, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Achievements

Sabalenka concluded the season with a 63-12 win-loss record, and picked up a historic £11m in prize money.

She earned almost 80% of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.

On 28 December, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".
