FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in the Spanish league over two years since relocating so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators can be present under the licence granted. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Recent Activities

The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
